Winter Guard season is in full swing. The girls and
the staff have been working hard to make this year a huge success. The Varsity
guard's show is called "A Touch of the Blues" with music from the
motion picture "The Firm" by Dave Grusin. They have already participated
in 3 competitions, winning 1st place awards at our own Winter Guard at the Rock
competition on January 31, and most recently at the La Sierra Competition on
February 27. At the WGI SoCal Regional on February 14, they received 9th place
in both prelims and finals - making this the 3rd year in a row we have achieved
finals status. In prelims, they won 1st place in General Effect and 2nd place
overall in movement - out of over 40 color guards!
The JV Guard will make their first appearance this season on March 6 at the
El Rancho show. They will be performing to Viva Las Vegas by Bruce Springseen.
They have just finished learning their show and it should be a lot of fun to
watch this program grow over the season.
Again, thanks to all of the parents who have volunteered your time to our program
this year. A big thanks goes to Mrs. Valdez and Mrs. Moss for making the varsity's
flags and costumes and also taking care of the bases for the window props. Without
the support we have received from the parents, the program would not be running
as smoothly as it is.
Below is the remainder of our competition schedule. Please come out and support
us. Also, a reminder that we are hosting another Winter Guard competition on
April 10 - with over 40 color guards attending! If you are available to work,
